AMEB Repertoire

The AMEB (Australian Music Examination Board) exists to provide a graded system of examinations in music, speech and drama, by offering high quality syllabuses, educative services to our teachers, examiners and candidates, and quality publications to the highest editorial standard.

The AMEB Tradition —
The AMEB tradition started way back in 1887 at the Universities of Adelaide and Melbourne, emerging in 1918 as a national body. Originally offering music examinations only, Speech and Drama examinations were later added. Today the AMEB is the most widely-used assessment system in these fields of study in Australia. . They are also the only examination body with formal links to the major Australian universities and Ministers for Education.
